The MotorMelon Gongs are a band formed around a studio workshop with two of my younger drum students. This workshop took place at Rhythm Mantis Sound in summer of 2012 and introduced the students to the process of writing, recording, and mixing in a music studio. The Motorcycle Song consists of Thomas Castleman on keys, David Argo on drumset, and Matt Wyatt on bass. Our debut CD is in the final production stages (artwork) and will be out sometime soon. Below is a sample track off of that release. We composed and recorded this song in the workshop.

And here is an excerpt from a beginner percussion group I taught in the fall of ’12. All four of these drummers were 10-12 yrs old and three of them had little previous experience. This group still needs a name and we may need a few more rehearsals before we hit the streets.
